On-Demand Logistics Solution

The following video describes how a SolaarTech / Kitewalk On-Demand Logistics solution will tackle the meeting-offer-and-demand-in-logistics need universally.

Would you like to know more about it? Then, keep reading.

I started my previous article talking about BlackBuck value from an investment perspective. Time to talk now from a technology perspective. BlackBuck has appeared to fill-in a gap in the Logistics space, one inherited from the previous century: the difficulty to correlate available transportation with shipping opportunities. More often than not, transportation companies are forced to ensure fast deliveries as urgent shipping orders arrive. They do not have the required time nor the visibility to monetize the return trips. For transporters, the ability to increase the transportation efficiency is a must, as benefits highly depend on their ability to ensure the maximum usage of the available volume transportation bandwidth.

BlackBuck platform is in essence correlating shipping orders with trucks availabilities and viceversa, rendering it easier for both shippers and transporters to get the best of each other's potential. Meeting offers and demands. They achieve it with a real-time real-place disruptive IT platform.... and investment.

BlackBuck is concentrating on offering their solution in the Indian market. That is not a technology limitation, as BlackBuck solution is proving to scale up country-wise in a huge country. That is a business limitation: every market will be different, will introduce new market acquisition costs and will come with different requirements, from government laws to market specifics. They should have many months ahead before they will be able to introduce themselves into a different region in the planet.

In the meantime, SolaarTech is a US/India company that has provided a very interesting and complete On-demand Logistics mobile solution for a midium size transporter in India. The solution is running in the city of Bangalore and covers all the shipping life-cycle from shipping orders from individuals to transporters acceptation, transport tracking, delivery completion, photo proves and payment. From a functionality perspective, their solution is perfectly adapted to the transporter business requirements. Only, SolaarTech focus on customized solutions has not allowed them to work on making the solution scalable geographically. As such, their solution can not scale beyond Bangalore. Sure, it can be replicated on other cities. But it can not work seamlessly on inter-city transportation requirements.

This example is not uncommon on solution companies. SolaarTech has tremendous talent, as their solution proves. But they have limited resources. They did not have access to the same investment level BackBuck had. As such, they had to concentrate their work in solving the specific need of their customer. They worked on ensuring the required functionality in the appropriate environment (Bangalore), not on universality (worldwide).

Because of that, SolaarTech has recently contacted Kitewalk and we are working together on a prototype which modifies their original On-Demand Logistics app to use Kitewalk Web Services to ensure the delivery of such universality. I.e., to make their app work anytime anywhere. Just as BlackBuck's. Kitewalk plays the role of the disruptive IT platform that helps a complete local disruptive solution to massively scale in real-time and real-place so that it can become a universal disruptive solution.

The following video describes how a SolaarTech / Kitewalk On-Demand Logistics solution will tackle the meeting-offer-and-demand-in-logistics need universally.

And, as with BlackBuck, appropriate investments will bring the potential to convert a "solution which works universally" into "a universal solution".
